FAREWELL TO A LONG ESTABLISHED LOCAL HAULAGE FIRM |
H J Pugh & Co conducted the genuine dispersal auction of W J Griffiths Haulage Business due to the retirement of Mr John Griffiths & Mr Jim Griffiths. The business has been running since 1929 and has progressed into the current state.
All of the equipment and machinery have been well serviced and maintained and Howard Pugh auctioneer said that it was a great honour to be able to sell such well looked after lorries on such a sad day.
The auction only consisted of approximately 100 lots with around 60 lots of spares, all of which were sold.
The tractor units were then offered. Top price was £24,000, which was for a 54 plate ERF ECT 420 6x2 Olympic XXL cab.
Other prices include: £22,000 for a 54 plate ERF ECT 420 6x2 Olympic XXL cab. £20,000 for a 05 plate ERF ECT 420 6x2 Olympic XXL cab. £19,500 for a 54 plate ERF ECT 420 4x2 Olympic XXL cab. £11,000 for a 53 plate ERF ECT 380 4x2 Olympic XXL cab.
The Lawrence David Tri axle trailers also sold well top price was £9,600, which was for a 4.2m curtainside trailer.
