Annual sale raises money for charity
Friday the 18th July was H J Pugh and Co’s annual Welland Rally collective sale of Vintage and Classic tractors, implements and machinery, stationary engines, models and literature, workshop tools and spares, and agricultural bygones.

This years sale also played host to the sale of Mr Bob Davies Cast Iron Seat Collection. Mr Davies decided to sell his collection due to his recent ill health, and donated 5% of the sale proceeds to the St Michaels Hospice and the Mac Millan Nurses, the auctioneers also gave half their commission to the same charities on his lots due to Mr Davies loyal support at auctions since before the firm started nearly 20 years ago. The top sale from the seat collection was for a Kemp and Nicholson Stirling Cast Iron Seat which fetched £680,

The top price of the day was for a JCB 3CX Sitematster 4x4 with a complete set of buckets which made £7,300 under the hammer. Other prices of interest are as follows:

Case 1494 4wd tractor £4,550, 2000 W Reg Land Rover Discovery TD5 7 seater £4,200, Fordson Major V8 Tractor Puller £3,100, Case International 885 4wd tractor £2,750, 1960 Nuffield universal 3 £2,500, Fordson super major £1,900, Ferguson tractor TEF 20 diesel £1,700, Bobcat 313 skid steer £1,600, Nuffield 4-65 tractor 1967 £820, 1962 Wolseley 1500 £700.

Engines and Implements: Ifor Williams 14ft plant trailer £1,200, Bamford 3hp open crank engine £1,200, Ifor Williams 10 x 6 trailer £1,050, New Holland 276 super hayliner £720, Twose Topper £500, Amanco open crank 1914 3hp stationary engine £400, David Brown 2 furrow plough £400, Ransome TS82 2f rev. Plough £340, MF 700 Trailer £260.

Other good prices include an Alloy Scaffold Tower £240, 240v Diesel steam cleaner £200, T20 Gear box and Rear axle £140, Avery Sack Scales £100, two milk churns £75.

The next sale is a sawn timber and collectable tool sale to be held in the Ledbury Salerooms on Saturday August 1st at 10AM.
