Weather holds off for sale
Saturday the 18th July saw the annual Much Marcle Steam Rally sale at Rye Meadows. The weather started glorious, and got duller throughout the course of the day, beginning to rain shortly after the completion of the sale.

H J Pugh & Co started selling at 10:30 AM prompt, starting on the small tools, garden equipment and accessories and stationary engines. Later moving on too the larger agricultural sundries, machinery, tractors, caravans and cars. The last of the 650 lots had been offered by 3:30 PM.

The top price of the day was for a 1999 1.4 petrol Volkswagen Golf with 64,000 miles on the clock which made £1,620 under the hammer. A rare Taylors Vacuum Pump Engine made £850, this superb little engine was in good working order, requiring minor mechanical attention, not bad for its age. other prices of interest are as follows:

Zetor Tractor £1,400, AW Flatbed trailer £1,020, Fordson Major £780, Howard Rotovator £480, Standard Fordson tractor for spares £400, David Brown 880 £400, Countax Ride on Lawn Mower £350, Ferguson plough Spares £200, Ferguson Plough £190, David Brown 3 Furrow Plough £180, David Brown Albion cultivator went for £180, Large anvil and stand £180, Dewalt Band Saw £80, Ferguson Steerage Hoe £75, Cast Stove £50, Childs Bike £40, Cameron Gardner Loader for Massey 35 £20, Horse Head Gate Post Toppers £22.

The Mobile office was packed away and ready to head back to the H J Pugh & Co’s main office in Ledbury, where it will be cleaned and re-stocked before being moved to Welland Steam Rally for what promises to be an exciting sale on Friday the 24th July.
