Second meadow used as sale continues to expand! |
Saturday the 11th of July saw H J Pugh and Co of Ledbury host one of their well known collective sales at Hazle Meadows, just outside Ledbury on the Ross Road. The weather tried to dampen the spirits of all who attended, but failed with it being one of the largest sales held there to date, filling all of the reserve car parks.
Two rings started selling smaller items at 10am, these included architectural salvage, agricultural sundries, lawnmowers, pony traps, car trailers and much much more.
At 11am Howard Pugh took to his pickup mounted rostrum to begin selling some of the larger items in the sale, with a full array of tractors and agricultural implements as well as some mobile homes, horse boxes and cars. A number of very smart tractors, a combine harvester, forage harvester and several machines were included in the sale by the kind permission of Mr P G J Churchill as part of a change in farming strategy. All of the 1400 lots had been offered by 4pm. Thus ensuring there was plenty of time for the buyers, from all over the continent, to remove their new purchases in the daylight.
The top price of the day was for a Claas Lexion 510 combine which made £67,000 under the hammer, entered by Mr P G J Churchill, other prices of interest are as follows:
